View Full Version : Odd Power Loss Odd Power Loss Paoth 05-16-2008, 05:46 PM I have a '01 Elantra with a manual transmission and roughly 60k in mileage. I recently started experiencing power loss in all gears including reverse. What happens is when I press on the gas it seems that only some of the power is actually being used. Basically when I press on the gas pedal once it goes past a certain point there stops being an increase in acceleration and just an increase in RPM. Has anyone ever heard of this happening or know what the cause may be? Thanks. If those are ok you might want to check the fuel delivery system...injectors, filter, etc. How about a tune up, had one lately? peachferrari 05-23-2008, 05:18 PM So the revs go up but the speed doesn't go up with them? Sounds like the clutch is slipping. jsinton 09-25-2008, 08:11 AM Try to bleed the hydrolic system first and determine if the clutch control arm is working properly. Might save you a lot of money or time. Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com! Registration is absolutely free. |
