Has anyone ever installed bc race cams in their s13 sr20det? I'm looking to get those with the springs and retainers. Just wondering if any head machining needs to be done to make them fit, or do they just drop right in?

are you gonna drive your car on the street? if so, race cams are a mistake.

Yea daily driver. What's wrong with race cams? I just want something thats really gonna make a difference. I'm pushing 18psi right now, just want the most power I can get from that amount of boost.

for one, your car is turbo. the optimum cam profile for turbo cars is much different than for n/a cars. trust me on this. for two, race cams provide power where your really not ever gonna use it. i.e. even if you raise your redline 1k, you still may only get an increase in power and torque over the last 1.5k rpm.

do yourself a favor and call around for some turbo cams.

lol at race cams and turbo cams. lol daily driving race cams lol

The 270s move the powerband up pretty high on an SR, its pretty noticeable. 2871, probably move the power from 3800 to 4400.

The thing is 2871 is gonna nose over pretty hard after 7k no matter what cams you put in it. so they might as well be 256s.

Im going with solid lifter 256s or 260s on a 3076 if that says anything. they'll have the biggest cam profile while still being low duration for midrange power.
