i'm a 100% ferrari fan but unless there's an full detail engine in it, i'll give it a pass.

Now this is the third announced GT-R kit. Which one should one buy? Wouldn't it be better if each manufacturer invested in a different model?

Bob, you make me laugh!

I'm happy I got my pre-orders in. I'm really not surprised that they have stopped taking orders for now.
I had figured it was going to be a hit when it was announced.

Oh well..I missed my window on preordering..been too busy over the last few weeks with moving and the job hunt. Will have to get mine after they become regularly available (I'll wait and see which the community considers to be the best (Aoshima, Fujimi or Tamiya?) before ordering one.

That looks good but I expected it to be similar to the SLR which it is. with only half an engine. I do like the multi piece wheels, but it looks like I'll be getting the Fujimi version

I don't see anything wrong with these "top-half" engines since most car undersides these days are covered in plastic panels. What I have a problem with is complexity of painting all these molded-in parts.

Why is Tamiya doing multi-piece wheels? Trying to save money or complexity of the shape?

Holy crap!

that's enough to convince me to get one!
as long as there's something under the bonnet i'll concede.

but i'm very busy & jammed with my 100+ ferraris right now...how man?

humm...headache.:crying:

nice.... but not quite the same as a full engine though and not exactly easy work to make it so.
Still, will probably eventually get one.
Also, those that guessed that the 300 kit was the GT-R can pat themselves on the back some time now.

Tamiya USA's website lists it for $66.00.

No way, Jose, for me! I'm not interested in the subject enough to spend that. I'd rather spend $66 towards my next purchase: Renaissance 250 SWB Calif spider.

Why would you buy the Renaissance 250 Spider (costs a lot and is curbside) when you can get the Italeri/Revell/Testors one for just a fraction of the cost with a detailed engine?!

Yeah, its curbside, but I'm not convinced by the shape of the other kits, which I used to have. I had a chance to see and sit in the real car, and the Italeri etc. versions lack the sexiness of the real fenders (like the subtle crease atop the fenders). So, I want to try out the Renaissance, and maybe use other kits to make it into a super-detail kit. If anyone has some good shots of the Renaissance to convince me otherwise, send them my way. Thanks!

I thought as much it would only be half engine. Even so, I'm in love! Definately will be getting some :icon16: . Will be interesting trying to paint it though...

Nice to see some pics of it, now we need some fujimi and aoshima ones to compare. Not liking the price, but we have to settle with it, as we have seen it in the past on other kits. Nice to see an engine, but i gotta say with that motor, it should've been left curbside. All that masking just frightens me just thinking about it. A little shy of a top notch model like their enzo.

Bring it on Aoshima and Fujimi!!!!
