Alternator Issuess0lidgr0und 05-07-2008, 06:42 AM I have a '98 Monte Carlo. I am in the process of replacing the alternator for the 2nd time since I purchased this car in October '97. I have just discovered that the alternator was replaced 2 times as well before I bought the car. What else do I need to be checking to resolve this issue? bigj-dog 05-07-2008, 01:56 PM In my experiences, the bearing (either front or rear) in the alternators go out on a regular basis. Nothing you can do about that except say a little prayer before you put it in. (and make sure the one you buy has a lifetime warranty and you don't lose the slip) j cAT 05-22-2008, 04:33 PM I have a '98 Monte Carlo. AZ electrical componets are not recommended..... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
