WHats up guys


I need some help , i DRIVE A 1990 crx SiR B16A1 where I live at the only " dot rated " streetlegal race tires that I can get are YOKOHAMA's

Now my question is which one do yo guys think is better for my car to use them on a 1/4 mile airportstrip?

I have 15" rims what size and what type should I get:

A032R 205/50 R 15 85V

A038R 195/50 R 15 85V , 195/55 R 15 84V

You can order tires through the internet you know. Then you would have more access to more tires.

I would use 205/50x15" on the fronts and 195/55x15" on the rear.

bf goodrich makes some good dot apporved street slicks.

Agreed BFG does make one of the better barely DOT approved drag radials.

I would check Hoosier too, however I would not run any of these on the street.

I know that I can order on the internet but Shipping and handling plus tax and shit like that would cost me about the same price as 2 tires!!

A few weeks ago I mailed a online tire sop and they told me that S&H would cost me about $200 .
So I if order 2 tires that is gonna cost me about $500 with S&H plus Tax included in it.

Did you try http://www.tirerack.com? I don't think I paid that much for shipping of my tires - somewhere around $80? I think.

Figure though you will save the same amount in taxes though. I know I checked around and Tire Rack was cheaper by about $20 if I purchased it retail at Sears and then paid tax.

There are very few places that can beat tire racks prices and quality.

Discount tire is another one in which I prefer for the loan reason that they have a store front and the ones in my area will bend over backwards for you even matching and beating tireracks prices, free rotations as often as I like, and they replace my lugs often and make sure they are always tq'd by hand and to the right spec.

However even with all that, I still buy my tires from the rack usually.

Last sunday I went to a streetlegal comp at a circuit park where we ran 1/4 mile and we got a Time slip and all

I stripped my interior I took the carpeting out and spare tire
I had Toyo T1-s proxes 195/50/15 tires, gauged at 24 psi in front

I had no bolt ons , just a test pipe and a FPR and Fuel pressure gauge set at 38 psi

This was my best 1/4mile 14.58 @ 153 km
60ft was 2.247


I also ran a 14.87 @ 149 km
60ft was 2.689

But on that run I lifted my feet from the gas at the start cause the guy I was racing with had a redlight but when I saw that he went all the way after I lifted my foot from the gas , I floored it again that's why that 60ft was 2.689

What do you guys thinks of my times???

they have lots of brands and cheap prices and shipping and handling is free. I buy tires off of them for 100 a pop. I think thats cheap. peace
