Hi, Pontiac Montana 2000,
Ac fuse blew out. I checked the fuse box near battery, on fender, fuse 28 AC clutch. Could also have something to do with the fan. After changing this fuse, AC worke fine. Any solution as what cause this.

If you are low on referigerant it can heat up and possibly blow the fuse. There is a thermal limiter switch incorporate into the system that should sut the system down to keep from cooking the compressor. If the compressor is having some problems already it could cause the clutch to heat up with resistance. You might purchase a small gage at the auto parts and check your a/c charge.

Dexcool coolant is known to "eat" into the coil on the compressor causing a short in the windings- although this was primarily on C and H bodies- it possibe to happen on any application like your U-van. Have you had any water pump leaks - or other coolant leaks near the compressor?
