'07...where's the paint code?

I have an '07 Grand Prix, and the side of my rear drivers side door looks like someone just kept wailing their door into it! :sly: I'm not real amused...
So I can't find the sticker with the paint code on it? I've looked in the trunk all over, under the hood, I opened all 4 doors as well as looking in the glove box... no sticker. There are so many shades of tan out there now, and mine is the darker of the tans, but not the darker brown shade, yeah that's helpful isn't it? I want to get some touch up paint is why I need it.
Can anyone direct me to where I can find my sticker?
Thanks

That is unusual. The SPID (Service Parts Identification) label is usually at those locations on GM cars. Try the backside of the spare tire cover in the trunk.

ah! you rock! thanks! :bigthumb:
I pulled the trunk apart; lifted the carpet, lifted the board (which was loose anyways) and there it was, stuck to the metal right next to the spare! Ok, there's no way I'd have thought to look there, so a big thank you for the tip!

Dont you just love people? I'd be majorly pissed off. I bet they drove away too, didnt they?

I usually park in the very back corner of the parking lot. I have "MY" spot at work. Its right along a curb, and has one behind me too. The only place someone can park is on my driverside. (I usually back in, it looks classier HA HA)

I'm also lucky because I work security and usually have a camera on my baby at all times. Not that I'd get a plate number, but I'd see what happened and what they were driving.

aww, pretty car!
I miss my '97, I just like that style better than this new style. It handled different, even with that blasted traction control! This one seems like it's constantly kicking into overdrive, but I figure that's due to that engine deal where it cruises on 4 cylinders?
I had my purple '97 for ten years, it was an extension of me, and I had tears when I left her at the dealer, but it was time. She had 186k, and oh boy, over the years she got a new alternator, heater motor, lower intake gasket and upper intake manifold, rear struts, only one battery!, oh that's what I can think of atm... the last thing was that my sending unit was going on the fuel pump, and I was going to play the odometer game for a while but that's like playing with fire. I was trying hard to justify an $800 fix on a car that bluebooked $1200, but on the drive home the low coolant light came on and I took it as a sign. We went back the next day and traded her in.. *sniff*
Oh how I wish I could have found this car in the dark amethyst metallic color that was on the Grand Prix homepage a few years back... WHAT AN AWESOME COLOR! I'm a purple fiend...

huh, now I can't find the touch up paint.

I only called one place and they didn't even show the color in their books (BC/CC U 317N), so he suggested CarQuest or Napa and having it custom mixed... I wanted to get the little bottle for $7, but that sounds like it could get expensive? Well I have to fix those chunks, the paint is literally off they hit so hard!

I don't know based on the damage probably better to get it professionally done. In the meantime checkout Duplicolor On-Line. See link below. Scroll down below half page and you'll see it. They should have your touch up paint in Scratch Fix2n1 which is also for minor chips, etc. Antique Bronze Metallic, Product Code: GMC1122, Manufacturer Color Code: 53-317N. Also, keep in mind the top coat is clear coat. Identifier - CC.

Also, any pics of the damage?

Thanks!! I've had my fair share of problems too. cps, maf, lower controll arms, coolant level sensor, just to name a few. Gonna get new stuts and mounts probably today. My oil pan gasket is leaking about a half a quart between changes, and I think sometime this summer as preventative maintenance I'll change the LIM gasket with the new GM metal one. At the same time replace the coolant elbow ( leaking a little), and probably the waterpump just because it seems like the logical thing to do. Then hopefully I'll be good untill 300,000 miles. I dont think I'm ever going to get rid of this car. It just fits. You know what I mean.

Never think I've heard of dark amethyst metallic. Any pictures?

You can just give your VIN number to your GM dealer or local automotive paints store and they can get the exact paint match from that also.
