It smells like radiator fluid in the cabin of the car? Is this a sign of a bad heater core, or something else? Is it replacable, can it be bypassed?

Sure you can bypass, or replace the heater core.. if thats the problem.

A coolant leak under the hood can usually be sensed inside the cabin as well.. make sure of where it's leaking before you dive into repairs.
