hey i am working on my friends 1967 pontiac le mans, and he just bought a stereo system (2 speakers, a 1000 watt 4 channel amp, and a subwoofer). he was wondering if i could help him install the system, and he said that i would have 2 bridge the amp to install it. can anybody help me in doing this?

you use the front two channels like normal, then follow the amps instructions on bridging the rear channels - just make sure the amp can han handle the load.

yeah but how. i mean I've never done it before, and i don't want him 2 have 2 go to a shop or something like that. And i also dont want 2 blow the $1000 system.

you have to read the amp manual ..... it should have diagrams

yeah it has a diagram, but not for adding a sub. it only has a diagram for the speakers

ummm ... subs are speakers, sometimes you have to learn to read between the lines. There should be a short section on bridging.

Some times you just need to realize you know nothing about what you are doing and jsut take it to a pro.

You take your two speakers hook them up to channel A or 1 or the front or whatever they call it on the thing. Then you take the right positive terminal of channel b hook it up to positive on the sub, negative left goes to neg on the sub. fairly simple.

what is the model of the amp anyways?
