View Full Version : Renault 5 Maxi Turbo, fully open, Scuderia lab 1/24 Renault 5 Maxi Turbo, fully open, Scuderia lab 1/24 sjelic 04-21-2008, 02:36 AM I will try to make it fully open, saying that I mean I will open the doors also  , since hoods are already open. First thing I would like to thank guys from Scuderia lab for supporting me with this project by an extra body shell. So this is what I started with. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/sjelic/Maxi/P4200362.jpg I took all Proxxon extras I have and prepared my self for a butchering (I have took a quick short drink before  ) So I sliced extra body in few pieces (boy did my heart heart when I did that). http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/sjelic/Maxi/P4200364.jpg then doors away from "real" body http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/sjelic/Maxi/P4200365.jpg and I made some rough fit. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/sjelic/Maxi/P4200366.jpg Door frame is very fragile and I must make extra effort to keep it alive. Next is a lot of putty work to make inside look like the real thing. gionc 04-21-2008, 02:49 AM Cheeers, I done same thing but my window frames are die.... well no probs :D. Mine is also comic since doors are decalled already :D, like those junkcars-park collages :D Sumak 04-21-2008, 06:46 AM Sasa, why dont you use Tamiya R5 body for doors??? sjelic 04-21-2008, 08:19 AM Sasa, why dont you use Tamiya R5 body for doors??? But I have spare tamiya 5 turbo kits... Maybe I'll think to this solution. Anyway mine is sleeping in its box waiting for the right moment. MidMazar 04-29-2008, 07:11 PM More updates please!! sjelic 04-30-2008, 02:33 AM If I knew this will be so much work I wouldn't have done it in the first place...but that is joy of modeling...right? :D Anyhow basic putty work is done, I used two part epoxy from Tamiya, now for fine putty work and then door hinges. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/sjelic/Maxi/P4290405.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/sjelic/Maxi/P4290406.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/sjelic/Maxi/P4290407.jpg with all the lids on http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/sjelic/Maxi/P4290409.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/sjelic/Maxi/P4290410.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/sjelic/Maxi/P4290411.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/sjelic/Maxi/P4290414.jpg still not perfect but I am slowly getting there :D doors, a lot of work, in the end I figured I did it wrong, well it will not be the same as original but I am not planing to re-putty everything. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/sjelic/Maxi/P4290408.jpg inside fit, some more putty is required. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/sjelic/Maxi/P4290415.jpg Thanks for your support guys ;) Big Kahuna 04-30-2008, 11:33 AM Very nice Sasa.
