With the car on, pop the hood and turn the AC on, you should see/hear the AC compressor clutch kick on. If it does kick on its likely your low on 134a and it needs to be recharged and then trace the leak. If it is not switching from floor to vent or defrost. Check for good engine vacuum to heater controls. A lot of problems with the plastic and rubber vacuum lines and at vacuum tank.
