What Is Your Lumina's Gas Mileage? 4x4 blazerguy 04-17-2008, 10:19 PM What gets me is to get 35 MPG you have to buy a compact lunch box car for $15,000+. Yet to buy a Lumina is cheap, they are midsize comfortable to drive handle well, brake well, & seem to run forever, or they don't run at all, seems no in between with them, either real good or junk. DnaProRacing 04-18-2008, 08:16 AM i drive 48 miles one way to work every day. at 75 mph average i get about 25 mpg. i drive very hard, probably shouldnt. but i didnt put all this time/blood/money into a fast car to NOT drive it fast... i love the sound of the intake mixed with the flowmasters. it compells me to drop the throttle and scare the lil children. pbbbt before someone tags in a comment about safety: i did some stunt work when i lived in NY for a couple years. i know about safety and i know how much and what my cars can do. and anyway, i hate my neighbors. let them step out into the street. :naughty: Bearwulf 04-19-2008, 04:25 AM My '93 Eurosport @70, 33+ mpg, '91(standard package)@60, 33+mpg. Cubsfan24 04-19-2008, 07:47 PM I have a 3.1L 96 lumina with 140k and still get around 28mpg mostly highway @70mph. That is in the summer but in the winter it drops down to around 24-25mpg depending how long it takes to defrost the car lol. I love my lumina.... well except for the white paint...... dwalmop 04-21-2008, 01:38 PM I have a 1996, 3.1L, 140K miles. I drive 75 miles round trip every day, and I get 25-26 summer, 22-24 winter. However, that is with about a 5 mile strip both directions of stop and go hell. stageninja 04-30-2008, 04:52 PM My 95 APV gets about 22MPG after gaskets and valve job a year and a half ago, thanks for the help from this forum. Haven't been here much lately cause I have been on the Jeep forums and getting 13 MPG but still love the Jeep anyway. Lumina is now the back up vehicle and light hauler. ricknewsom 05-10-2008, 01:10 AM 2000 Lumina, 110K miles. Interstate 70 mph (w/cruise on) = 34 mpg City = 24 mpg My average mileage is 27 mpg and I consider this really good since most of my driving consists of a weekly commute over mountainous terrain to get to an environment where city driving conditions are the norm. Why does a 2-door Speck only get 35 mpg these days when 20 years ago you could get 54 mpg out of a Geo Metro? I'll take the Lumina over the Speck. cadgear 05-10-2008, 03:01 AM I pull a sweet 35mpg highway, average 70-75mph. City isn't that great, about 20mpg. But I've been known to drive my car like I stole it, so that could be a major factor in the low city mileage. My 1991 Cutlass got 28mpg highway, not to shabby for a 15 year old car.
