i can actually see what seems to be an oil/coolant leak coming from in between the block and the a/c compressor. there is some type of sponge or foam material between the block and compressor... think my block is cracked? or is there something that may cause this that i cant see without taking the compressor off... :banghead: ripping into it in the morning reluctantly... just wanted to hear some probable causes before hand. thanks for your time!

Oil and coolant look and smell different...do the old dab on white paper & sniff test. Dark brown opaque is oil, light and translucent is coolant.

My guesses would be either you have a leaking camshaft or crankshaft seal (weeping out under the timing belt cover) if it is oil, or a failing water pump (also driven by the timing belt if it is coolant. But before you tear into the engine, check to be sure the source. There are coolant and oil lines that run along the front side (below the exhaust header and near the oil filter) that may have a leak or a cracked hose. Good luck!

Thanks! my first instinct was that it was comming from under the timing belt cover... actualy going to go wrench it right now. just got this car three months ago bone stock engine 185,000 on it put a K&N intake on it and only ran 92 octane with octane boost with every fill up. its an automatic and my gas pedal rarely left the floor. why? why not.... these toyo's seem to never die! had to see for myself..
