Hinges are probably worn out. either need to replace them, or change the bushings

When the door is all the way open, can you lift up and down on it like its loose? If so, like said above, either the bushings are wore out, or the hinges are bad. Or best case scenario, the hing bolts are just loose, but I doubt that.

Yeah, its a heavy door, but I need to replace my hinges too.

Time for carbon fiber doors then. Save a ton of weight there!

yeah, and what happens if his car gets T-Boned? not worth the money and its a lot less safe... IMO

You want us to use tortilla chips as doors? Thats a no go.

The doors aren't actually that heavy. You want a heavy door..try a F-body door..Anyways , the CF doors are just as strong as the sheet metal doors from factory as far as stability and durability and if you get T-boned either way..the door won't make much of a difference if it's a hard enough impact to go through the door.

what about the metal side impact bar that Ive NEVER seen in carbon fiber doors... the shell may be the same... but with no side impact protection... ouch

Carbon doors are made for show and track cars that have a reinforced roll bar, I would never put them on a street car. If you need to lose some weight, there are other places to do it than the doors, and if the doors are your last resort, I'm betting that car is running lower than 11's, and at that speed, you'd better have a roll cage in it.

Has anyone seen how much CF doors are anyway? Bastards cost just about as much as the DSM itself. IMO unless you have a cow that eats grass and shits money, they are a completely rediculous thing to buy.
In regards to the OP, have you had that door off recently? My buddy had a black 1g DSM that came with a damn 2g door on it (:screwy:) so we swapped window motors and put the 1g door back on, but we didnt get the bolts tight and it kinda hung like you are saying. I'd tighten them up if you can, but otherwise I'd either just deal or get new stuff like people have been saying.

Oh, because you can see the drunk thats about to run a light and t-bone you... CF doors are for show vehicles.... unless you cage the car with side impact bars... i wouldnt drive the car on the street.

Have you tried anything said yet? Let us know how it goes and what the problem is if you find it.

Im not saying I dont like the look, I dont like the fact if i get into a side impact collision there would be no protection other than the CF itself which would shatter... then its just you and the bumper of the douche that hit you. and i bet i know who will win that fight

How many times do I have to explain to people that CF doesn't "shatter" its bends. But Yes I know there is no pretection or whatever in a crash.

the resin will crack and/or shatter, leaving you with the fabric center to stop a 2 ton vehicle...
Now this is getting beyond pointless and off topic.... if you have anything else to say, Send it in a PM, Im done.

I was just about to say stop the arguing. CF doors have nothing to do with the original post so the discussion about them needs to stop.
