Hey all,

After many years i decided to restart modelism. So i choose the following kit to re entry in scale modelling!

I used some spare disc brakes from older models and reshaped them in order to fit the rims.

I decided to place different rims in the back with different tires, so i used the BBS for the rear.

And for the last, i dremelled the tires cause i might put the Levin in a diorama probably :twisted:

The exhaust system...well this is the exhaust that the kit provides:

Of course it sucked, so i tried to make a new from scratch. I dremelled the undercarriage in order for the new exhaust to fit:

Then, i cut a piece of plastic tube from the kit and i bended:

Honoturtles right about those fender flares - they make the existing wheels look a bit on the narrow side.. :banghead:

I've used aluminum tubing to 'fabricate' exhaust parts like this Opel downpipe. It's much easier to bend then copper + is already a realistic metal shade to begin with.

A little update after a while :oops:

Starting with the interior its getting done almost... I've painted the rollcage gold and then i've washed it with some light silver and added some foam pads:

Then i've attached the custom exhaust and washed it with black painting oil in order not to shine and the i will make the titanium effect in the muffler:

I know it's said that if you don't have any thing good to say about some one's build just say nothing "but", I like the start every thing was going smooth till you added those Huge flairs. You do need deeper wheels to keep the flairs from looking so huge. (But if that is the look that you are tring to get I can go with that.)The figure need only two things done if you cut off the frount of both feet up to it's ankle's at an angel to bend the feet flat and fill in the gap with putty. You will realy make the man look as if he is leaning aginst the auto. But If my comments make you mad I'm sorry, can't wate till the end.

Those massive flares remind me of the AE86 keichi tsuchiya used to race.

Your coments are very welcome my friend! Thats one of the reasons im posting...to get comments and make things better! I wanted to try these flairs...but you are right that these wheels are looking small...so either i will extend the arches or i will fit deep dish rims.

I put a carbon decal on the hood and then i used a humbrol decal fix...but as you can see it left some kind of dirt....any ideas of how to clean it???Please help....

Then i fixed the "Dori-Dori"! He needs some putty and sanding before painting. I had a crazy idea..to make him smoke after the touge run :shock:
So i cut out a little piece of cable and after some "micro-surgery" i fitted it on his hand.

What do you think? Is the size of the cigar right considering the scale?

Looks much better with the wide wheels! Add a moderately large spoiler and it will look like a rally car! One thing from the picture though, are the rear wheels leaning the wrong side? It looks like positive camber.

Are the dirt underneath the decal? If so, there arent really much fix to it besides removing the decal, wash the entire body, and put on a new one. Doing any work on the bare decal will just damage it more.

About the figure, maybe you could cut the cigarette a little shorter so it looks like it he has been smoking on it for a few seconds already, also, how about modifying his right hand to have it in his pocket? I think it would make him look more natural.

Try wiping the decal with a damp cloth and see if that removes the residue. Great work so far on this! :)
