1999 Cirrus car alarm

How do you inactivate the car alarm on a 1999 Cirrus LXi if no longer needed? No keyless remote left as I am not the original owner and obtained car partly due to alarm issue. Can get alarm to eventually go off by turning key in door back and forth. However, when I unlock car door, alarm goes off. Have pulled horn fuse and power door lock fuse in hope of cure, but no help. Pulled flasher so lights will not flash. Car will start with alarm on and run. Car drivable but annoying at times. Would a keyless remote even help at this stage?
