WTB: BISS made out of anything other than plastic

As the title says, I'm looking for a BISS that is not made of plastic. I've purchased a BISS from both Extremepsi and JNZ tuning and they were both made out of plastic. When I try to install them they start to break off and so I then need to drill a hole and sink a screw into them and pull them out in order to get them back out. I want to fix this problem for good. So if anyone has a BISS in good shape that's not made out of plastic that you want to get rid of, let me know.

is it possible for you to just take your plastic screw and go down to the hardware store and try and match the size and thread pattern??

Base Idle screw basically if you turn it up rpms go up down rpms at idle go down. Its right on the throttle body. It tends to leak boost pressure at lot.

This is what it looks like

If I were to go to the hardware store and get a bolt from them, where would i put the O-ring on the bolt?

Just use some teflon tape on the threads.

Has anybody ever done that? The main reason that I want to get this fixed is because when the cars cold I'm idling at 3000rpms and when it finally warms up she comes down to about 2200rpms at operating temp. I'm sure that I am getting horrible gas mileage due to this because every time I stop the idle is mad high as if I were moving along. Not to mention it's not good for an engine for when it first starts in the morning to start up at 3k.

What does the BISS do? I know it adjust the idle but what exactly does it control? Is it just like a valve that lets air in kinda like the IAC.

The further it's screwed in, the less air can get through. If I can't screw it in any further without chipping plastic off then I'm going to keep idling high so I need to fix this.

So it basically just allows air to bypass the TB plate? Why would you even need the BISS screw? The IAC motor should adjust the air for the idle, what would happen if you just cut off all the air going throught that part?

I would assume that the idle would die out, but I'm not sure.

so stick your finger over the hole and have someone crank it

NED: I have a N/T throttle body just sitting here. I'm sure it has the metal BISS. I only live about 45 minutes from ya...

Like said it's the BASE idle set screw. The IAC adjusts at idle when accessories are turned on such as the A/C

I just come out to Jamestown and say whats up and snag that BISS from you!! But I'm not going to be able to come out to Jamestown for at least another week. Is there your any way you can throw it in the mail, should only cost a stamp. I can send you some money paypal for the BISS and for shipping.

Overtorquing your BISS screw (no matter what it is made of) isn't going to fix the issue.

I'd check the IAC, boost leak test the car, and make sure you're setting the idle the RIGHT way and not just screwing in the BISS without following the rest of the proccedure outlined here: http://www.plymouthlaser.com/biss.htm

I already did the boost leak and fixed all leaks. Nobody said anything about over torquing the BISS, I can't screw it in any further than maybe 2 threads and I know that it can go further than that. This one time I tried getting it to go further and the RPMS came down about 400 RPMs but the plastic screw from Extremepsi.com started chipping. I haven't fixed the BISS problem yet so I can not set the Idle the right way until then and I'm fully aware of what I need to do to set it, as I have read that write up a couple times before. Thanks for your help but I still need a BISS, so what do you think tfoti? PM me if you are interested.

also ned you have to set the car in base timing mode or something liek that to sucessfully set idle...
