Hey, so i just got this car.. actually it was a trade for my truck, it's a 88 260e. here is what i'm having some issues with:

well the guy told me that one of the cylinders is weak... i guess he had a compression test done on it, and now the car will shake when your at idle... the car runs super smooth when driving it.. it just shakes when your sitting at a light. nothing sounds bad or anything.. it actually sounds pretty smooth, doesn't burn oil... nothing?? so i dont know how there can be a bad cylinder?

when i start the car, morning, afternoon.. or even after driving it around for an hour.. turn it off... you go to start it... it just turns over and it's like it isn't getting enough fuel (if you guys know what i mean) and once it starts, he said to give it a little gas.. and yeah, you do that.. it works just fine! ( so i dont know if it needs a new fuel filter, spark plugs?)

the other thing is, my abs light is on on the dash, and as of late last night when i was driving.. the temp, oil, rpm's, and all that other stuff stopped working.. the only one that was working was the economy guage? and there was this buzzing noise coming from under the dash or something, but goes away when i turn my signal lights on.
i turned the car on today.. and all the guages were working again, but as soon as i pressed the brake to shift into gear... they all went out again.. and again.. the buzzing..
and also, the speedo guage isn't working? any idea's

the sunroof wont open.. or maybe i dont know how to work the control's?? lol


so i'm totally new to these cars.. i picked it up late last night and all this was going on.. and this morning.. so any idea's.. that would be awesome!! i'm pretty mechanicly inclined.. i owned a hand full of DSM's.. so i know finiky cars!! :rolleyes:

but in total, i am wanting to put some money into this car, i paid $600 for my truck... and well... with trading it.. it's like i paid $600 for this car!! :grinno:

How is the charging system on the car. What you are talking about tends to happen when the batterie is about to die. All the gauges go crazy ¸and the buzzing sound comes on. Check that out,see if its charging properly.
