hi. ive recently lost my key for my 2007 nissan altima and had lost the spare before that....im wondering if there is a way that i can program the key to the car myself...as the car is still open....the dealership charges 150 dollars for the key+programming and the towing will cost even more....so i am trying to save a few bucks here thanks.

You have to take it to the Dealership or find a Auto Locksmith that can do the 4th generation Altima. I found one in the Chicagoland and he charges about 30 bucks and said it only takes about 20 minutes to do. They have touse a coputer to hook up to your car and have to have both KeyFob's and your tag that you got with your car.

Little money maker Nissan has, charging 125 dollars, plus 250 for the remote. You can get it for under 75 for both, without going through Nissan.
