Bad misfire 97 Passport

Hey guys,
I've been a fan for awhile and found some good info. But I just joined and have a question for you.
I have a 97 Passport w/ 3.2.
Does anybody know how to check the coils with a multimeter. There must be a resistance value and procedure somewhere.
I just rebuilt the motor and I have a bad misfire. It's not popping throught the intake or exhaust, and I already made sure the timing belt is correct. I bought it with a rod knock, so it probably had this issue before I rebuilt it.
I'm having no luck with pulling one coil at a time because it won't idle and I have to keep it revved up.
Thanks
