cruise problem03impala9c1 03-30-2008, 01:11 PM so the cruise light will randomly blink on and shut off usually right away... it mostly happens when the car is not moving and the cruise does not work... the buttons seem in great shape and i dont even have to touch the buttons for the cruise light to work. any idea of whats wrong here? tripletdaddy 03-31-2008, 06:07 AM I think this one is for you Rod.:) I'll just get in the way.:) Sorry 03impala9c1:( That's quite the project car. shorod 03-31-2008, 01:48 PM Okay. I'll have to get out the service manual and wiring diagrams. 03impala9c1, would you believe me if I said my 1998 SHO was one of the most reliable cars I have had? [It's too early for me to say if my 2007 Infiniti G35 will take that honor, but it's off to a good start.] The only problem I really had with my '98 SHO was coil packs. The radio illumination also quite working early on, but that wasn't a "problem," just an annoyance and was easily fixed in an afternoon with a soldering iron. -Rod shorod 03-31-2008, 10:21 PM There's just nothing jumping out from the wiring diagram. If I remember correctly, the indicator is only supposed to come on when the cruise is on and set. If that's the case, it would seem like the problem must be with the instrument cluster. Otherwise, there's a problem in the cruise servo or two buttons in the steering wheel assembly through the clocksprings would have to be shorting out in the correct sequence (on followed by set/accel). It would only take one short to ground in the instrument cluster to cause the indicator to light, and that would set the indicator without actually causing the cruise to come on and function. If you get the indicator to come on reliable in error, check the orange/light blue wire from the cruise servo for a hard ground, rather than just floating. -Rod 03impala9c1 04-01-2008, 01:32 AM thas the thing though also, my cruise doesnt even work! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
