any other turbo P11?G22DET 10-16-2001, 02:12 AM is there any other turbo charged P11 running around? i've seen a couple with turbo kits, but havent see anyone dropping the DET in it yet...just curious. G20-KIWI 10-16-2001, 07:59 AM Nah haven't seen any of them in NZ but I am curious why the hell bother with the expense to fit a KIT?? It surely must be cheaper and more reliable to do what you have done G22det. Everything is stronger and configured already in the SR20DET for a turbo, you would have to get piping and I'm assuming a new/modified ECU to run it (You can't run the same boost either). What waste of money. In Nz people have added turb's and can't generally exceed 7psi boost. donsster 10-16-2001, 11:15 AM I've seen "kit" turbo SR20 engines (stock bottom end) run 350+ front wheel hp on a dynometer (20 psi, pump gasoline). "Kits" can include much larger and more powerful T3-04E turbos than the stock DET engine has. Yes, you can add the T3-04E to a DET engine, but then you will need a new manifold and piping too, just like a "kit" SR20 turbo engine has. This has been debated lots of times on the SE-R mailing list, you can read up on it at SR20DE.net G-Forces 10-16-2001, 01:12 PM Those 350+hp stock bottem end SR20's are also running water injection too, right? donsster 10-16-2001, 05:16 PM Yes, water injection is achieved by using the windscreen water resevoir! One of the better writeups on a "kit" turbo SR20DE is at http://www.se-r.net/car_info/project_cars/searl_tate/index.html Also a good read if you're interested in SR20 turbos in general. G-Forces 10-16-2001, 08:49 PM Oh my god I think I know that article by heart! :) Much of my insperation for buying an SR20DE car came from that article alone. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
