Motor mount removal bonnevilleSS LT1 03-25-2008, 09:26 PM I have a 93 bonneville se 3.8 and im replacing my water pump. i am having a very hard time removing the motor mount, however. I have all the bolts takin off, i have jacked up the engine slightly using a board and jack under the oil pan. the mount can be moved around by hand, but will not come off. Can i get some assistance please? Thank you ahead of time randy78 03-26-2008, 01:53 AM well if you have the bolts out that hold the mount to the body frame and the one that goes through the mount at the front engine bracket then it should be free maybe you are not seeing another bolt i could look on my bonneville 1992 and see what all bolts you need to remove, i have worked on many of these and swapped engines in many of these but i always forget specific details on these mounts, lemme know and ill look and get info good luck scooter72908 08-09-2008, 05:33 PM I'm having the same issue in trying to remove the water pump. I also have all the bolts removed from the motor mount but unable to get it to release. Any more comments on what you did to get the mount removed. I also have a jack under the engine for support. thanks, scooter72908 08-09-2008, 11:33 PM Found problem! I was just afraid to raise the engine high enough. The belt(s) can be changed without removal of a bracket spacer on this model. BTW, the subject of this thread was related to replacement of the water pump and removal of the front engine mount, not the belt. :nono: jd-autotech 08-10-2008, 10:59 AM oh i know just thoght i would make a info statement for those who find the info interesting. some times people read a forum for info and have simular cars and i thoght i would throw that out there Jrs3800 08-10-2008, 01:43 PM Although that is good information, we need to be sure we are giving the procedure for the right years... Just as posted earlier, this procedure is good for the 95-99 L36 3800 Series 2.... On the 87-94 Models the belt removal is not obstructed as it is with the series II.. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
