Here is my sketch: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/3452/smart999lo5.jpg (http://img253.imageshack.us/my.php?image=smart999lo5.jpg) I allready made the main arm: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/9741/2010ke0.jpg (http://img404.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2010ke0.jpg) It came from a broken sunglasses, I liked the oval shape: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/2917/2011hd3.jpg (http://img410.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2011hd3.jpg) Next step is to cut the swing arm: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/228/2013oc4.jpg (http://img410.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2013oc4.jpg) The technique for bending the rim consit in use a lighter, make circular movement under the rim, and then press it against an objet that has the distance I need to bend: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/2239/2018dc5.jpg (http://img410.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2018dc5.jpg) There it is, a rim for single sided arm: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/7201/2019fj9.jpg (http://img410.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2019fj9.jpg) And a quick check out:http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/7100/2027si2.jpg (http://img410.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2027si2.jpg) Next step is to complete the swinr arm structure, it is similar to the ducati mh900e and monster st4: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/8886/3001yi4.jpg (http://img410.imageshack.us/my.php?image=3001yi4.jpg) Here in mexico is hard to fin materials, so I have to use anything, to get a thin tubing, I got it from a candy: decided if paint it yellow or the paul smart version: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/6195/3006yy3.jpg (http://img410.imageshack.us/my.php?image=3009ff2.jpg) To paste really hard two pieces, I use krazy and sodium bicarbonate, it makes a really strong union ans is sandable: http://http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/8339/4002qp4.jpg (http://img248.imageshack.us/my.php?image=4002qp4.jpg) Here is the two parts glued and with primer, the union was perfect: a good idea! I hope it works out for you. Mark utzelu 03-21-2008, 03:25 AM Really ingenious work you've done... With some more cleaning before painting, I believe you'll have a handsome model. Too bad Tamiya is not producing more Ducati kits. ALEX GAROLI 03-24-2008, 04:36 PM Thanks, yes tamiya hasnt released new models, I really wish to build the mh900e or the multistrada, we will have to wait. But thats something good in some way, if I get a tamiya kit I try to build it as close as I can to the real model, instead If I saw a New-ray model in a store I inmediatelly purchase it and in my head I start to thin what modifications to do.
