'96 Starts cold, but takes several attempts when hottmitty 03-17-2008, 09:54 PM My '96 aurora has been having a problem starting after it warms up. The first start of the day is never a problem, but the next time I will have to crank it several times (for a few seconds each time), and it will finally catch. I'm thinking it could be an oil pressure sensor cutting off the gas when it's hot and the oil is thinner. Anyone ever experience this. Any suggestions? jo66tr 03-18-2008, 07:15 AM My 98 has done it since I have owned it at 50,000 miles. It now has 175,000 miles on it and still does it. I always figured it was from where they placed the starter. The starter is to hot to turn over properly. lynzoid 03-18-2008, 10:37 AM replace FPR - fuel pressure regulator tmitty 03-18-2008, 11:35 AM That was my next guess. Thanks. zgirl8 03-26-2008, 02:21 PM We had the exact same problem on our '95, and replacing the fuel pressure regulator did the trick, as well as correcting the stalling and bogging down we were having. Also, SES light stays off now. tmitty 05-05-2008, 09:36 AM Thanks for the help. THe FPR fixed the problem. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
