Has anyone attempted to install a power driver side rear door or ultrasonic rear park assist on a vehicle that did not come with it from the factory?
I was thinking of attempting this in my spare time...

What, nobody wants to add two of the most troublesome options to their car?

Ha, ha.....so tell me Paul, 4 years later, were you successful?
Are you freakin' kidding me? The cost of all the parts for either option would be unreal, never mind the expertise involved......might as well just take a hammer and bang your toenails for excitement......

HA HA HA HA - I have had a few too many car projects to even consider doing this. I was hoping if the right parts showed up at my favorite yard that I might try it, but been too busy. We are looking at trading our 08 in on a Traverse in a few months. It has been a great vehicle, just want to get into something newer before we have trouble.

For what it's worth, I had an aftermarket rear park assist installed for about $300 - works fine.
I wouldn't mind doing a driver-side sliding door... Any hints on what I would need?

Well, after 6 years of ownership, we traded our 08 Uplander in on a 14 Traverse. So nope, I never did get aorund to it :)
