motor ticking after shut offSlates 03-11-2008, 11:06 AM I have a 1981 chevorlet custom deluxe. I havnt driven it in like 2 months and this past week i tried starting it. it took like 20 minutes to get it to start. Ater i got it started i let it run for like 20 minutes. after i moved it i turned it off and when i turned it off it started smoking. (he smoke was like a light gray). Then their was a ticking noise coming from the block. idk wat it was and i havnt started it since then:banghead: just need some one to just give me a suggestion on wat they think. Just let me no what you think it is. Headnsouth 03-11-2008, 01:01 PM Sounds like the ticking is the hot engine/exhaust is contracting as it cools after being heated. Slates 03-12-2008, 10:01 AM Thanks man. however it wasnt even warmed up yet like i said it was only running for mabey 10 minutes. Headnsouth 03-12-2008, 10:07 AM Even after 10 minutes the engine gets pretty warm and the smoke was probably from a small oil leak. I wouldn't worry about it. Slates 03-12-2008, 10:23 AM Thanks bro. Slates 03-12-2008, 10:25 AM Hey man if you dont mind ive got one more ? is the custom deluxe the same as a c10 victimizati0n 04-11-2008, 12:51 AM Thanks man. however it wasnt even warmed up yet like i said it was only running for mabey 10 minutes. lol, you would be surprised how hot it gets i bet after 30 seconds of it running you will be unable to touch the exhaust manifolds for more than a second vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
