I am going to be getting a new set of wheels soon (Rota Slipstream 16" on my Accord) and I need some tires to go with them. I have a few brands right now that I am trying to decide from...

Yokohama AVS ES100
Falken Ziex ZE-512
Kumho Supra 712
Kelly Springfield H Rated 40k mile Tires

Right now, I do not know what to get, I am stuck between them all. I like the Kelly tires because I can get them for a good price (350 installed), know they will work well in rain and will last twice as long as the others, but not very "cool" and dry traction isnt as good. I will prolly be using them for about 5k miles a year. What do you all think?

I don't know anything about the Kelly tires but I know about the other three. Your decision depends on if you're gonna drive in the snow ever. The Falken 512s are all-season while the others aren't so if there's gonna be snow get them if not forget them because the other 2 will give you better dry traction. The Yokohamas only have a 280 tread rating while you can get the Kumhos with a 340 tread rating with the V rated speed (the W rated speed has 280 but you're not gonna be going that fast anyway). Both are equally good I'd say but the Kumhos are cheaper and have the treadwear advange so I'd get them. They look better too.

Definately the Kumhos do not like wet weather, or camber for that matter. The set I have, have been eaten up by 1 degree of camber. But if your are sitting at zero degree camber, and dry weather they are an awesome tire.

Kumhos are fine in wet and with camber. I've gone through this before but toe will wear your tires quicker than camber.

The Kumho 712s just need to be driven differently than other tires. Braking a bit longer, and being gentle on the gas pedal.

5000 miles a year?!?

i do more than half that every month and im 17 and my job is 5 miles away and my school is also 5 miles away....

i just the yokohama avs es100 for my slipstreams in 195/50/15 and these tires are sick. they handle really good in dry and just about the same in the rain. i definitely recommend these tires. too bad i only had the car for a day and a half to try out the tires because i had to take my car in to get my swap done;), but once it gets out its time to go for a little test run.

bridgestone potenza re 730.....its what wraps my slips on my lude. i have tein ha's, suspension techniques front and rear bars, neuspeed and tanabe tie bars and with that stiff suspension its hard to break them loose in extreme driving. the s03's would be better but thier treadwear is just way to low
