Does anyone know what size the bulbs are for the shift indicator lights on the dash. Went in to Toyota with one and he tried to tell me there not replaceable and need to but the whole unit. That just don't make sense since they turn out.

They are a special bulb...not one you find in a parts store. Check a junkyard or used parts place. Obviously, they are replaceable if you have it in hand to show them...they just want to sell the whole thing instead. In the meantime, you can swap the bad bulb in your dash with another that isn't used as much...say the "L" bulb for the "D" bulb in your gear indicator...until you can find one.

Thats what I did, but I had 3 of them out and running out of places to take them. If it comes to it I'll take the socket and wire in a LED they come small enough. Thanks..

If you do try to replace with LEDs, make sure to either get the polarity correct or include a series resistor to prevent it from popping. But if you are successful, try to post your results here for all. I'm sure alot of people would like to replace those annoying bulbs with long-lasting LEDs, including myself. Good luck!
