I have had an issue with the stop light (#1 fuse) fuse that blows instantly when changed. Some other information that may be helpful. 3rd light has not worked in like forever, turn signals work, taillights work. When the fuse is about to blow or has just blown the car seems like it is being sucked of all its energy when you step on the brakes. Any help would be greatly appreciated....thank you!

If fuse blows when you step on the brakes, the short is after the switch at the brake pedal. If this is the case, I have found the most common cause is trailer wiring at the brake controller, outside the vehicle near the plug, or at the rear wiring harness where the trailer wires are spliced in. If you don't think you have trailer wires, make sure to check under the carpet, and in the storage boxes in the rear, as some poeple like to hide them out of site. Good Luck!

As said trailer kight plugs are a problem area.
Disconnect the high mount stop light for a test.
Disconnect the rear tails light for a test.
Then test the turn signal and 4 way flasher switch.
