View Full Version : Nissan Pathfinder 2005 Sensor Problem Nissan Pathfinder 2005 Sensor Problem Nissan2005 02-21-2008, 11:07 AM Thanks. flyguy123 02-23-2008, 10:32 PM I have a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder and the Check Engine light is always on. I noticed that when filled up with gas the gas gauge does not read the gas and shows that it is empty when it really is full. Now once I use half the tank of gas, the gas gauge starts to work from half the tank to empty. If that makes sense. Now the digital reading that shows how many miles you have to empty does not work at all and just blinks zeros. I know that he Check Engine Light and the gas gauge are related because it only came on once the gas gauge stopped working. Because of this problem my Nissan will not pass inspection. I really don't want to get screwed by the dealership, does anyone know what this problem maybe? And can it be something I can fix myself. My guess it's a sensor. Please help. Thanks. The problem with your gas gauge not working properly is probably due to a failing sending unit located inside of your gas tank. I am not familiar with the 05 models but usually their is a access panel located in the hatch just above the gas tank. I would pull it out and look at it but you probably will just have to buy a new one. Now with the sending unit not working properly I would think that it would cause the digital read out to malfunction as well. I would also pull the codes to see what all the cel is on for. Jerry1984 05-21-2008, 12:38 PM I am having that same issue, I was wondering if there was a diagram on how to do it yourself or anything of that sort, I took mine to Nissan and it was way to expensive, 99.73 for the part and 338.75 for the install Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com!
