97 Blazer stalling, not starting, dome light and ignition key sensorgbosch 02-21-2008, 09:56 AM My 97 Blazer has stalled a few times while driving, occasionally will not start, i will put the key in the ignition and turn it and there is no response, After a few tries it finally starts. Yesterday and today while driving the dome light came on and at the same time a tone started sounding like the tone that goes off when the car is shut off and the key is left in the ignition with the door open. If I opened the door while driving and shut it hard it would stop and then start again a couple of minutes later...:banghead: Any ideas for this newbie? tempfixit 02-21-2008, 11:31 AM WHich engine????? Check fuel presure with fuel pressure gauge. (You may want to drive with fuel pressure gauge attached to winshield to watch pressure when engine stalls) Do you have spark while cranking? Check ignition switch, common problem on 97's. If you need to replace switch the how to section has a thread on replacement procedure. Do a search on ignition switches in this forum. mike2004tct 02-21-2008, 09:48 PM Search the "How to" section for Ignition switch. Sounds like the known switch harness/module problem very typical on '97s. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
