93 S10 Blazer 4X4....

Just out of curiosity......

I have a 93 S10 Blazer 4.3L auto 4 door blah blah blah. Recently, I forgot to disengage the 4x4 high when going to town. It was about 15 miles before I realized it was on. Nothing seems damaged, but I thought it sounded different then and didn't know why. Now it sounds fine. It's no secret not to drive in 4 wheel on dry pavement or above 45 mph. So....

My question is:
What damage, if any, can occur from this? I'm kicking myself for not paying attention and knowing that a messup like that can cost big.

Any knowledgable replies are very much appreciated. i.e. master, mt etc.

We hope none.
When on dry payment in 4W it puts strain on all of the 4W stuff and rear ends.
Longer you go the more strain and wear.
From what some say a long trip of a 75-150 miles on dry payment will wipe the out.
If no noise now and it still works good just keep on driving it.
But in 2W on the dry payment.
Good Luck

Thanks for your reply. I just didn't know fact from myth on this. No noise, no problems and want to keep it that way. Anything 4wheel drive isn't cheap to fix so the best measure is to be preventative. Looks like my 15 miles is a wee bit less than what it could take to do damage realistically. Good thing it was a short drive!

Take care.
