Sounds cool. I was beginning to think no one built models in the midwest!!!

Any modeling clubs in SE Wisconsin?

Hi,

I know of atleast 3 in the Chicago area that build sportscar models:
Great lakes modelers club,GTC and Stricktly 43rd.We have a very
good turn out of great models. They are all very high quality.
Some of the people at the event come from as far as the west coast USA.
This show is only for sportscars/FIA racing/INDY.We only allow 1961-1971
vintage stockcar models and no customs or drag racing.YOU CAN BRING ANY MAKE FROM ANY AUTO MANUFACTURER AS LONG AS IT FITS INTO THE ABOVE CLASSES. The Ferrari dealer is very large and they give us the whole place for the show. They have tons of Ferraris and Maseratis sitting around for sale.Take a look at the photos on www.kaz43.fotki.com (http://www.kaz43.fotki.com) I think thy had 8-9 360 Modena spiders in a row in the back for sale.
We reserve the right to refuse entries that are done in bad taste.

I am a member of Auto Modelers Group in Milwaukee. We meet the first Friday of each month at the Wauwatosa Savings Bank on South 27th St. (just south of College Ave). We have 60+ active members building all types of cars. We'd welcome you to stop in.

Seems like a nice event. Its a shame that it falls the sameday as nnl-east.

I know. The NNL east is mainly customs,Nascar/Hotrod and street cars.We are more international and vintage sportscar/racing minded. We will try to avoid this same date duplication next year. The NNL east changed their date from March this year wich was unexpected. No model builders from the east coast have shown up to the Ferrari Expo yet anyway. We have people from Texas,Washington State,Arizona,Iowa,Wisconsin,Minnesota,Michigan,Oh io,Kentucky,Tennesee,Missouri,
Nebraska,Colorado,Illinois ect coming in and several art/book/model dealers from the east coast but no modelers.I hope that changes this year. Its cheap and easy to get to Chicago.

This is the Ferrari dealer right before the onramp right. I know where that Dealership is,

if so, I've always wanted to stop in that Ferrari dealer and just drool wishing I could buy one. I know its sort of a small building and how would parking be, can we also enter cars as we walkin,

can we also bring more than 1 model

F1Tommy
02-14-2008, 11:14 AM
Hi,
It is the dealer right before the I 294 exits going east on Ogden. You can enter when you walk in.Maximum amount of models you can enter is 10 per person(unless you have a theme collection that is well presented). The models must be at the show before 1030.We will watch them until the end of the show.Judging will be at 2PM.

They built a large addition to the dealer 3 years ago.It is now pretty large. The give us the whole showroom for the show. You could put 30 Ferrari's in that showroom. They let us park at the GM training center next door and also in the parking lot east of the dealer all day free.

So the cars can only be from '61 to '71? I was going to bring a few modern day Ferrari's and a DTM from 2000. Is that not allowed?

lemansnut (Mike): I'll try to stop in this month. I was at Greenfield News and Hobby today. How far away is that from where you guys meet?

I just finished my Model Factory Hiro Ferrari 312 1967 Monaco Bandini
F1 model for the show.It was a conversion from the MFH 1968 312 model.I am also doing a Feraud Ferrari comp Daytona 1972 Lemans model and a Ferrari F2003GA.I hope to also complete my Alfa Romeo 8C Spider(conversion from a Welly diecast) and a Alfa T33/2 1967 Lemans test 1967 longtail
from a Scale Designs kit.

You can bring any make of car as long as it fits into one of the listed classes.

Tired of Customs, dragsters and Nascar at all of he NNL's????Then you should

Wow, we had some really great models this year!!!!

Thanks to Ramon Garcia and Steve from the cifesystems website.
GREAT MODELS!! The Ferrari 550 with opening doors,Jaguar and Mclaren
were all superb.
Steve's Enzo was scary it was so good!!
In 1/43rd Kaz Shibuya brought along his Porsche that he finished last month.
He is becoming one of the best 1/43rd modelers I have ever seen.
Big 1/12th was won as usual by Mike Klessig with his usual super clean build.
He did a Tamiya P34 this time. Very nice work. It should be in Scale Auto later this year.

I did notice the Noble. I was too busy drooling on the Ferrari 288 GTO, 250 LWB California, 275 GTS, 512BB and Porsche 356 Abarth to get to excited. Also alot of great new Ferrari's sitting around!!

Thank you for coming. I hope you enjoyed the event. Not a bad turnout
of good modelers. I learned some building tricks today.

We will be adding more motor racing classes next year in all scales.
Also I am working on a very nice prize for the best Ferrari of show winner.
Dont forget, we allow all makes of sportscars and FIA/F1/Lemans/Rally/road racing models.(Trans Am, ect.)

This is not just a Ferrari model contest.
In fact 70% of the winning models this year were not Ferrari's.

I cant wait until next April 2009!!!

Ferrari Expo Model and Art Show 2009 is coming.
Make plans to be in Chicago for the event next year.
