1989/90 Supra 3.0 turboplainzwalker 02-24-2003, 09:10 AM k..so i want to buy this car (im currently in germany) for $500. the guy says it runs but it has some engine problems, something about the connecting rods (i think thats the name of it, the deal that goes between the head and the camshaft and moves it up and down...i know makes me sound real stupid). i was wondering if this would be a good deal? how much would it cost to get the pistons replaced? thanks 88sedan_civic 02-24-2003, 11:41 PM Rod knocking-man i had that happen to my supra once..than all of the sudden the motor gave up on me, well i was running 18psi at the time. Better to get a new motor if you want that car..i would say a JSPEC 7MGTE or if you want a step higher 1JZGTE.... $500 is a buy lol..:D plainzwalker 02-25-2003, 01:11 AM okay...so my wife talked to the guy that was selling it. its the engine crankshaft and bearings... the guys supposedly a mechanic, so i dont know how much else there is to the problem..would this be another "better to get a new engine" problem? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
