I have 98 z-motor 2.0 with 30K on it and want to put it in 96 contour with bad 2.0 . Do I need adapters for trany .Is wires the same ? I have done few swaps in the past, like 2.7 to 3.2 on chrysles and trany swaps ,but would like info from someone who done this kind of job

You need a new wiring harness, 98+ have VCT, 96 don't.. I wouldn't even attempt it, Find another 96 motor.
