I have upgraded from a fine '90 Escort to a super-fine '95 Tracer, and have/had a common issue with both. The t-handle for the automatics dig into my right leg while driving. Is there another Ford model that has a non-t handle that I can swap? I tried removing the handle and driving, and it is annoying shifting in and out of park.

Thanks for any advise that you may be able to provide!

Don't know of any model you could adapt. I'd cut the offending part of the shifter off with a hacksaw.

Cutting the handle is not a bad idea, may not look to good cosmetically. I'm either going to rotate the handle 90 degrees(if it clears the radio), or walk through a junkyard and try to find something else.

Thanks for the reply!
