Vacuum Actuator 4WD Front Axle ?

One of the four colored tubings on my '90 4x4 Jeep Cherokee front Axle 4x4
vacuum actuator harness "broke" recently.

The mechanic found a chunk about 3 inches long missing near the Transfer Case !

How that happened only God knows, since it was underneath that Black "cable covering"
plastic tubing wrap....

In any case he spliced it with a hunk of rubber Fuel Line tubing and all is well in
my world now.

However - here is the joke......

I called the local Spokane Chrysler Dealer's Parts Dept. and the Twaddle-Brain
there couldn't find anything in his parts catalog as a replacement...!

It is a four tube plastic vacuum hose assembly or harness about 5 foot long
with a female socket that plugs into a 4 barb prong on the Transfer Case and goes up
to the right side of the front axle and plugs into the 4x4 actuator box.

The guy at Spokane Chrysler gave up!

Told me to go to a wrecking yard!

He didn't even know what size plastic vacuum tubing to use!

He said my Jeep was too old for them to have parts or a citation in the catalog!

Lord God!

So - can anyone help me here!

Schucks sells an actuator for $139 which I think goes into the Axle 4x4
housing - but I'm not sure - no picture or description is shown.

and a "switch" for $18 which probably goes into the Transfer Case

Really, I just want to buy some plastic vacuum tubing to replace the 18 year old
tubing that is cracking now...

I should have had the mechanic cut me off a tiny piece to take to "Spokane
House of Hose" (yes....!) to find something that will work - if Chrysler doesn't
sell it.

PS - can one lubricate the Axle 4x4 actuator, or is that lubed by the Differential fluid?

Do a search on this forum for "vacuum four wheel".

I had posted previously some information that is still there on the vacuum actuator system.

You can improve on the OEM plastic hoses if you just use some hoses or maybe some bulk brake line tubing.

Anyway, some links:

There are also kits to make the vacuum into mechanical using a cable actuation system.

Here is the diagram I posted so you can "jump" activate the 4 wheel drive directly.
