Thanks dave92cherokee 02-02-2008, 07:27 PM Do it the easy way just follow the wires coming out of the fan and unplug the connectors from each other. XJ99 02-02-2008, 07:37 PM Yea Ive been actually waiting for this to happen dam gremelins :banghead: ended up tapping on the relay and it turned off then I started the jeep and the fan didnt turn on and I heard a clicking sound and a check guages light came on so I can assume its a bad fan relay that I can replace easy. I did go and buy a haynes and will try to get a FSM soon so I can tackle the other prob down the road.......for now victory to me  jpgy69 02-03-2008, 02:17 PM  my electric fan turns on when i turn on the jeep,is that normal or is there a switch or fuse i need to replace in order for it to turn on when its suppose too,i own a 1998 cherokee sport XJ99 02-03-2008, 03:19 PM  my electric fan turns on when i turn on the jeep,is that normal or is there a switch or fuse i need to replace in order for it to turn on when its suppose too,i own a 1998 cherokee sport I know that my 99 Cherokee sport ele fan turns on when it gets to the operating temp around 180-210 then comes on for 2 sec then turns off then on for 2 sec and off but my jeep never overheats. I think down the road im going to do what most ppl do and mount a toggle switch in the cab to turn it on when I want it to. Also wanted to know I took out the relay per believe that is the issue, do I need to go to the dealership to get a new one or would a parts store sell them??? wwwildman 02-04-2008, 08:00 PM I know that my 99 Cherokee sport ele fan turns on when it gets to the operating temp around 180-210 then comes on for 2 sec then turns off then on for 2 sec and off but my jeep never overheats. Parts store should have them cheaper than the dealer and they should work just as well. AlohaBra 02-06-2008, 03:44 AM Mine was actually cheaper at the dealer. XJ99 02-07-2008, 02:16 PM Just called the dealership they said the relay costs about $17.00 does that sound right or would a parts store be cheaper??? AlohaBra 02-08-2008, 09:45 AM That is what I paid. The one for my Toyota was like $50. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
