I have a 85 caprice classic 305 that wont start. The car ran fine the day before. Yesterday morning I went out to start it and it kind of half started but shut off. It was about -10 to -15 degress out that night. The block heater was plugged in, but I only have about 1/4 tank left of gas. We tried Heet in the tank with two more gallons of gas. It still wont start but it will crank. Any clue where to start looking for problems. I think fuel pump, fuel filter or carb. Thanks.

I'd suggest removing the easily accessible spark plugs to check for gap, condition, and whether they are fuel soaked.

With good plugs installed, check for proper spark energy.

if you put gas into the carb even with some plugs wet with gas it should atleast backfire. make sure you have spark. if no spark and distributor looks good and no spark at coil wire at dist. possible distributor electronic module or wires to distributor module.....
