I have an '01 X with Shrockworks sliders, otherwise stock.

I've been hearing a clunking sound under my X when cornering. My mechanics had it up on a rack and could find nothing, but I finally found the problem. There is a small gap between the chassis and the top of my sliders. I suspected that the chassis might be hitting on the slider because the paint on the slider was damaged in the place they'd meet. I shimmed the slider with a piece of metal to fill the gap and the noise disappeared even on rough surfaces.

Just thought I'd pass that along in case anyone else is going nuts trying to figure out a weird sound.
