Come one, Come all, I have a question for yall !!

Ok, so my 98 cavilier is gettin old. She gots 281,000 km on er. Now it still has a little bit of pep in er but sometimes around 60 - 100 km when I punch it it is a little slow to react:screwy:. Now I know I have to change the left motor mount due to a little wear. I dont really suspect this as a conflict with this issue. I change the oil and filter on a anal retentive basis,I have a schedule and stick to it. Plugs just changed, rad flushed, engine flushed I take care of her. Anybody able to tell me why she seems to be actin like this? Is it mabey time to change the timing chain? Get the lifters tightened? Mabey change my muffler bearing:tongue:??

Any advice on this dilemma please feel free to input your sagestion.

Thanks

don't forget to take off the 7-10 cap. will run like a screaming biatch after that!

but to be serious, it is a cavy, it doesn't have a whole lot of power to start with. now if you notice a differnce from when you bought it then start checking things out. could be a gas issue, an age issue with some worn parts, is a guessing game until full diagnostics are done on it.

Well I guess Ya got a point, it is a Chevy and not much power to begin with. I have noticed a slight decrease in power. I changed the fuel filter about a 100,000 or less apx. but its cheap and easy(I wish i would hear that more often) so I will start there.

Thanks for the advice

1 last thing. Have you ever heard of Sea Foam and if so what are your opinions on it.

Here is something worth wild to look at. They got alot of cool shit: enjoy:licka:

seafoam is ok stuff, i have mostly used BG products, but have used sea foam. ran some through an intake on the first time using it to try and clean some valves, man oh man did it smoke for awhile after that. once it all burned through, the engine was running better all round, power, MPG and so on.

as for that site, that is the weirdest shit i have ever seen! but cool! gonna post that link in the off topic section!

UPDATE:

Slug mobile cured. EGR valve was the problem(and did the fuel filter cause its cheap and easy). F'in emission controll BS. Because of this whole e-testing thing, the manufactures up the price on everything associated with emmission controls. Well after a big lumpsum bill shes spittin out fire. O ya and an allignment. Damn curb came out of no-where.
Time for that tank conversion:icon16:
