Do I have an In-Glass Antenna?

So I took off the antenna I had on my left quarter panel (stock one.) I was under the impretion that i had an in-glass one that would work with my radio.:frown: Turns out I don't have any signal for my AM/FM radio. I've been thru the wiring diagrams and it says that if I have an in glass antenna I shoul be ablt to just plug that one in the place of the pole antenna i removed. So the question is, Do I have an antenna in my glass? If so, where do I make the transition, head unit or hatch panels?

Here's the left side of the hatch that shows the defrost connection.

Here's the right side of the hatch that shows the defrost connection and something else!

So what is this lil bastard for? Is this for my In-Glass Antenna?

These cars stock don't have an inglass antenna. I can't picture if mine has that little piece and don't feel like scraping snow off of it right now. Why would we have an actual antenna, and an inglass one then?

Well when the 2Gs have the rear glass defrost on, only the middle and lower portion of the glass clear up. The top part of the glass stays nasty. And i can see where the lines meet the connections. The small connector (last pic,) goes to the other series of lines which are thinner than the defrost ones.

:attention Can I fit and after market antenna kind like an evo one in between my erected sunroof and hatch? Something like a 2 inch one or smaller?

You used "Erected" and "Can I fit anything there" in the same post. Nice.

I don't think you can. Looks like something will hit for sure. But how often do you open the hatch and have the roof open like that?

LMAO, oh no, did Brian get to you?

I don't think I do that much but I have to say that it looks worse than it is cause the side rails make the crevaie look smaller.

you can get one of those antennas that stick to the inside of the windshield. people usually put them right behind their rear-view mirror

Can you guys see the bump and at the rear underside of the glass? If it wasn't for that thing I think it would be alot easier for an anenna to fit.

I've seen antennas that will only use up about 2-1/4" height. Is it good enough?

for those who can't read it, I have 2-3/4" space between the roof and glass.
