Would I go to a body shop for something like this?...

First off, let me say that I like my rims. They are just the stock 15" alloy 7 spoke, standard on the EX- but they are just fine for me (I'd rather put the money into an intake, muffler or spoiler/other body cosmetic etc. before I'd dump the $ for new rims) Anyways, a couple of my rims seem to have a blackish tarnish around the edges, it feels sort of like the outer polished surface has been eaten away, exposing a lower layer to corrosion. I attribute this to a combination of 8 years of road salt abuse(damn New England), and general lack of alloy care on the previous owner's part. So, is there any way I could have the rim polished and/or resurfaced? (Providing it wouldn't be too cost prohibitive) Would a body shop do something like this?

There are wheel shops that will make your rims look like new. Look in Car & Driver or Yellow pages.

Wheel Collision center fixed my damaged (bent) rims for $100 each they are in Bath, PA

You can get them powdercoated or refinished. Ask around some of the shops in your town.
