hey, I recently found a new f150 larriat and im getting a hell of a deal on it using the ford partner xplan, msrp is $35,695 with all the addons and stuff
my buying price is gonna be $26,149 + tax tag title
all that added in comes out to like $28,600

my question is this the dealer is trying to charge me sales tax on the original msrp and not the price im buying it for. Can he do this? or is he just trying to find some way to make a little profit off of me?

i live in Chatham county, GA with 7% sales tax
if u can help i'd really really appreciate it and if u have a link to a site so i can print anything that may be of some help

thanks !

Hmmm. All of the transactions i have done over the years, I've paid sales tax on the agreed upon price, not the msrp. Cal your local DMV office or their "800" number and ask them how sales tax is figured on the sale of a vehicle in your state.
