hi im getting a loud squeeling sound today while accelerating at low speeds in a parking lot or from a red to green light change. Once I get going past 40km or so the sound goes away. When the car is at idle there is no sound. It occurs also when the car is slowly rolling. Never had this unusual hi pitch sound before.. Im baffled. The Regal was parked for about 3 days... When I open the hood with it running, I don't hear any unusual sounds from the engine area.

Alternator and battery tested this month and both at expected readings.

Any comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

If you haven't done so lately change the serpentine belt as it is probably slipping on the pulleys. The high pitched squeeling on acceleration is a common sign of a slipping belt.

hi thanks gtp dad for your insight and fast reply...i had the serpentine belt replaced 33,000 kms ago when i first got the car......but today the sound isnt here (so far, lol) but if u have any more ideas i would appreciate them always....
