That Evo VII extreme is actually the Evo VII - Spirit of Competition Car.
Unless it could be the Evo VII eXtreme Jap. Version. im not too sure of that.

The UK version Is black with chrome bottom lips and side skirts from what i have seen in EVO magazine pumping out 350bhp if i remember correctly.

I was going to buy the magazine but $20 for a magazine is over the top. Plus only for one page :p

I bought that EVO (issue 036 October 2001) and have more information if you guys are interested...

In the magazine it is a black Evolution VII with silver side skirts. It produces 339bhp @ 6400rpm and 350lb ft @ 4300rpm. The engine has new forged pistons and conrods, a remapped ECU, high-pressure fuel pump, more efficient intercooler and a free breathing induction system. Boost is upped to 1.6 bar. The clutch is 25% stronger. The Eibach springs are 20mm shorter than stock and the 18in alloy wheels give the Evolution a more aggressive stance.

The wheels aren't just for show either. Underneath those larger rims are massive 362mm AP front discs with six pot callipers (smaller 306mm rotors with four pot callipers in back). These amazing brakes are OPTIONS on the Extreme.

All this equals a 996 Turbo rivaling 4.2 second 0-60 time  and a more modest 160mph top speed (estimated). The Extreme does have a nice list of cons though.

The car only has a range of around 150 miles (17mpg, 48 litre tank) on super unleaded only of course. Make sure to schedule the service it needs EVERY 4500 miles (this 2 litre four cylinder can only do so much ;) ). Oh yeah, I forgot to mention... base price for the Evo Extreme is a whopping 39,995 pounds (over 57,343 dollars for you lazy Americans:D ). And after all was said and done, the Evo magazine Evo Extreme was an incredible 47,600 pounds (68,251 US dollars).

For that list of cons, Evo the magazine withold the the five-star rating for Evo Extreme the car instead choosing a humbling four-star rating. After all, and I quote from Evo:

"The beauty of cars like the Impreza and Evo is their cut-price Beemer-bashing potential. The moment they cost more than the icon they intend to humble, the point is surely lost."

Maybe later I'll find a high-quality scanner and scan the article in for you guys. Before then, this bit of information will have to satisfy you.

that isn't true... it still costs a bit less than an M3 and it outperforms it
