There were some engine problems and I got the filter changed.

Yes I think you should keep changing the air and the oil filter often as required.

Use good quality additives. Josh has an article on it in Autoview.

Get it regularly serviced in a authorized service center.

Make sure all the spark plug wires are kept clean.

Pay particular attention to the engine. Check the fuel filter for any contaminants.
