Word of caution for auto tranny owners....Ramblin Fever 01-21-2008, 08:36 PM just had my tranny cooler line hoses replaced, something I personally did just a few years ago. Anyhow, one of the hoses actually collapsed internally causing quite a bit of back pressure, the other hose popped off the connection due to this. Thankfully I caught it with a little warning after seeing ATF dripping yesterday; when I fired up the truck this morning, the one hose popped off almost immediately. Took the truck to a shop to have them do new hoses and a drain/refill, might as well. Said the tranny fluid was in superb condition and that I hadn't hardly lost any so no damage was done. They gave me the old hoses, for only being a few years old, they look HORRIBLE!! I was actually VERY unimpressed by the quality of the hoses which I think were the Gates brand. Just fyi - keep tabs on those little hoses under there....my guess is all the salt/magnesium chloride on the wintery roads aided in their wearing out. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
