Snippet on GT-R in Car, a UK mag...VQuick 02-21-2003, 10:25 AM The UK magazine Car, had a 4-page article where they talked with Carlos Ghosn, who is currently the world's most valuable auto executive. They also had a chart on one of the pages, with cars that will be pivotal to Nissan's comeback, like the Infiniti FX45, the Nissan 350Z and Micra, and the new GT-R. Car was saying that now it will have a twin-turbo V8. That's great, imho. I just hope that it is true. As much as I love the VQ, a VK**DETT will have more tuning potential in the end. Additionally, the V8 will probably at least match the upcoming V8 NSX in power, and exceed it in tunability. A V8 will also help the GT-R hold its ground against the V10 sports car that Toyota is supposed to be working on. There is also a caption saying that the GT-R will be a 'cut-price 911 buster'...but in the previous issue, Car talked with Hiroshi Tamura, the product planner for the R34 and R35 GT-Rs, who said that 'beating Porsche is nothing.' I'm assuming they are talking about one of the turbo 911s, but I still wish I knew who to believe.:( pherik 02-21-2003, 01:56 PM Strange that they mention a V8. The Autocar article specifically says it will not be a V8 as the extra wieght reduced the handling response of the car so they were remaining with a V6. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
